چکیده
Objective: To evaluate diagnostic accuracy of ultrasound in renal masses taking computed Tomography as a gold standard. Methodology: A cross-sectional study 198 subjects with was conducted at District Head Quarter Hospital (DHQ) and Allied Hospital, Faisalabad. Patients age 18 years above both genders complaints hematuria and/or palpable mass the flank region included. nephrolithiasis, any other gross pathology patients contraindication to contrast agent, were excluded. Results: Ultrasound had Sensitivity 76.67%, Specificity 100%, positive predictive value negative 80.56%, 88.14% respectively for assessment cell carcinoma. Conclusion: is reliable tool differentiation masses, pathologies such simple cysts, complex polycystic kidney disease.

Accuracy of multiphase helical tomography in detection and characterisation of suspected renal masses using histopathological findings as gold standard.
BACKGROUND The introduction of multiphase helical computed tomography has created many important advances in the detection and characterisation of renal masses. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the seventh most common cancer and makes up 80-85% of all primary renal cancer in adults. If it is found and treated early, the chances of survival from kidney cancer are high. This cross-sectional comparat...
متن کاملComputed Tomography of Renal Masses in Adults.
Renal masses are a common incidental finding in abdominal imaging. They typically are benign cysts but sometimes are kidney cancers-most frequently renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in adults. Alongside noncontrast computed tomography images, multiphase contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) supports rapid, accurate differentiation of renal cysts from potential kidney cancers and can help with l...

An accurate initial staging of patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) is critical for the selection of an appropriate treatment. Computed tomography (CT) remains the standard imaging technique, although it is based on anatomic criteria. Positron emission tomography (PET) with 2-deoxy-2-[fluorine-18]fluoro-d-glucose (FDG) provides useful functional information but req...
متن کاملDiagnostic Accuracy of Sonosalpingography for Assessing Tubal Pathology in Women with Secondary Infertility Taking Laparoscopy as Gold Standard
Context: Secondary infertility is a major public health issue with growing urbanisation and increasing age of marriage among women. Disease limited to low socioeconomic strata is commonly seen in general population. Judicious and accurate assessment of underlying pathology targeting tubes should be undertaken. Aims: The aim of this observational study was to assess the diagnostic accuracy of so...
متن کاملDiagnostic Potential of Multidetector Computed Tomography for Characterizing Small Renal Masses
OBJECTIVES To assess the potential of CT for characterizing small renal tumors. METHODS 76 patients with <4 cm renal tumors underwent CT examination. The following parameters were assessed: presence of calcifications, densitometry on unenhanced and enhanced scans, washout percentage, urinary tract infiltration, star-shaped scar, and paradoxical effect. RESULTS Calcifications were found in 7...
